SINGAPORE UNSUNG HEROES is a storytelling project to create more love, contribution and connection in Singapore. Filmmaker Eileen Chong founded Unsung Heroes to profile ordinary people who display extraordinary acts of kindness that transform the community – and we do that through on-the-ground documentaries and heart felt storytelling.
Since launching in 2013 the documentaries have reached thousands, attracting attention and love from around the Singapore. People donated furniture, canned food, rice, clothes, toys, refrigerators and tables to the causes featured. One anonymous donor even gave $10,000 towards needy families! As a result of the campaign, $90,000 worth of utility bills were paid off through unsolicited donations.
Everything goes straight to the needy – we don’t make a cent! People say we have more heart than sense and they might be right! However we have just launched our PIXEL WALL where people and companies can pledge their support to the Unsung Hero cause by purchasing logo/supporter space on the pixel wall. Other than doing a good deed, it has its perks! Our documentaries reach thousands and you can become a sponsor or named supporter and get kudos and limelight through doing good.
